Low end, with room around it
Deep tech puts the groove close to the centre. A rounded bassline and a steady kick make the foundation; hats, shakers and small percussive figures create movement around it. The arrangement can remain spare without feeling still.
At SHAMANU, this means a measured, underground interpretation: rhythmic detail and weight, with space left between the sounds. Records earn their place through how they sit in the flow, not through the size of a breakdown.
Where house meets a leaner pulse
The term deep tech is used differently across labels and scenes. Here it describes the meeting point between house's physical groove and the stripped-back organisation of minimal music. Swing and bass remain important even when the melodic material is slight.
Deep tech can share an intimate feel with deep house, but the emphasis here is on percussion and repetition. It also overlaps with minimal techno without requiring the same dry, mechanical character. These edges are useful listening directions, not rigid rules.
One station, connected sounds
This is the same SHAMANU broadcast heard on the homepage. It moves between compatible deep tech, rominimal and microhouse records; this page does not offer a separate genre-only channel.
An autonomous engine chooses and mixes tracks from the station library, considering rhythm, tempo and energy before committing to a transition. That continuous approach lets a house-led groove move into a more abstract passage without a scheduled programme change.
